ABOUT

Associate Professor Andrew S Davidson

A/Prof Andrew Davidson grew up in south-east Queensland, and completed his medical degree (MB BS) at University of Queensland in 1994.  He served as a Medical Officer in the Royal Australian Navy until 2002, and commenced neurosurgical training in Sydney in 2003.  During his training he completed a Master of Surgery in Neurosurgery at Sydney University (awarded in 2006). A/Prof Davidson obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2008. In 2008-2010 he undertook a combined clinical and research fellowship in cerebrovascular surgery at Macquarie University, and was awarded his PhD in 2014, for research on the molecular biology of brain arteriovenous malformations.

Mission

Associate Professor Andrew Davidson is an academic neurosurgeon specialising in the management of brain tumours and vascular malformations. He works in the public and private system, offering comprehensive neurosurgical care to all patients when they need it most.

Vision

The diagnosis of a brain tumour or vascular malformation can be an extremely stressful and worrying time. In the days, weeks, and months after diagnosis, fear and uncertainty can be overwhelming, and patients often find it difficult to know where to turn for advice.

 

Dr Davidson works with a team of specialists who are experts in the management of complex brain and spine conditions, including tumours and vascular malformations.

 

A/Prof Davidson provides comprehensive care, support, and timely treatment for public and private patients with neurosurgical conditions of the brain and spine.
